Making Visual Studio TFS plugin store your credentials? -
every time open visual studio 2008, pop-up dialog prompting username , password ('connecting team foundation server'). presumably because have tfs server stored in team explorer tab, in servers, wants connect on startup. in addition, happens when open solution file solution associated tfs source control, obvious reasons.
my problem identical described in various places on web, such as:
- http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/tfsgeneral/thread/186a469c-bc58-48c4-9db9-ffc2e0fedb11
- http://hastobe.net/blogs/stevemorgan/archive/2008/08/25/stop-visual-studio-prompting-for-tfs-credentials.aspx
in cases can see, suggested solution add tfs server credentials windows' stored credentials. i'm using windows 7, think way in credential manager.
well, i've added tfs server credentials 'windows credentials' list, , still prompt username , password when open visual studio 2008. have ideas how can login credentials automatically?
update:
i added tfs server's computer name, along username , password, credential manager (before had ip address). now, vs2008 does load without prompting me credentials... vs2005 still prompts me them, though has exact same server registered in team explorer! whatsmore, server registered in team explorer server's ip, stored in windows credentials, rather server's name. still mystery. registry setting peculiar vs2005 version of team explorer source control plugin? in registry find potential setting(s)?
did try access tfs web site , enter credentials ie? if don't try, please try , check "remember credentials" checkbox. think can solve problem.
