c# - Improve the design of GUI/website -

so using visual studio 2008, asp.net 3.5, basic toolkit provided.

now have made gui lot of functionality design basic. , looks old.

i need give new look, new feeling new designs....

like gridview, buttons textboxes, menus basic... not working me.

please let me how should go doing this.?? 1) have herd tool kits dont kno ones good..(dont want expensive ones) if company ready spend.

2) new vs 2010 or asp.net 4.0 make difference.

3) ajax toolkit or silverlight toolkit good?

4) need show charts , graphs now, using ms charts.. need good.

your best bet ask specific questions @ more appropriate forum.

for ui guidance on how make specific better, post question on http://ui.stackexchange.com. include small screen shot of applicable controls (not whole page, part you're asking about, or @ least highlight part you're asking about).

.net 3.5 vs .net 4 have no real effect on design of site. whether choose html or silverlight have huge effect, neither better sites , switching between them means rewriting everything, wouldn't design reasons.

jquery - appear modal windows bottom -

c++ - Compiling static TagLib 1.6.3 libraries for Windows -

i having super hard time compiling , using taglib 1.6.3 in qt project. i've tried can think of. taglib claims supported through cmake i'm not having luck. furthermore, i'm confused kinds of files need qt libs! i've built *.a files, *.lib, , *.dll. understand far... believe since i'm working in windows *.lib want. no matter do, end "undefined references" taglib functions try use when try compile qt project. have tried mingw32, msys, visual studio 2008, , cross-compiling windows on linux. turning nothing. what makes less sense me if compile same taglib source qt on mac (g++ think?) works fine! somewhere in windows compilation procedures have going wrong. have been smacking face on desk 30 (on , off) hours trying figure out. since qt uses mingw must compile taglib same compiler? if compile *.lib's visual studio not compatible? are *.a libraries usable in windows?
